Well Butter My Butt and Call Me "Biscuit!"

I can't believe it, but my big ass jar of Eco-Styler Olive Oil gel has been REDEEMED!!  Once upon a time, shortly after my Big Chop in December, I had bought this gel because my sister (who is also natural) kept mentioned using it in her hair.  I remember trying to use it at least twice by slathering it into my wet hair.  What I got wasn't what I expected and the white residue it left behind, I hated.  It was official, in my opinion, that Eco-Styler was not for me.  I counted as a product loss...a big jar of wasted gel.  That is....until today!

I'm still not a hair-doer, and my #natural hair resources here in Pensacola, FL are slim at best.  What I've been doing with my natural hair for these past four months have only included puffs, plain TWA, headbands, twists (the few times that I've found time to do them) aaand that's mostly it.  I've been seeing all the lovely styles my CURLfriends on Twitter wear and wished upon a star that I could do something wonderful with my own.

Which leads me back up to today.  I broke out that damn Eco-Styler gel and just went for it.  What exactly "it" was, I wasn't sure at first.  My hair was dry-ish and compacted nappily to my head from sleeping on it.  I didn't moisten it or anything because I wasn't sure anything wonderful would come out of this spur of the moment.  I un-kinked small sections of hair and applied a nice fingerful of gel to each piece while pulling and stretching until the gel covered root to tip.  Then I let go of the section of hair and what dangled there was a bit of hair that was nicely stretched and coiled (is the best was for me to describe it.).  I kept right on until my whole head was full of ringlets.

Is there any white residue this time?  Minimal. I think me pulling the gel to the ends of each section repeatedly helped with that.  Anyway, I'm excited, y'all!!  My TWA has ringlets!

I'll post more pics later today once I make myself look like something other than "just woke up." LOL

#BLAMECRISTAL For Your Beautiful Skin!

Aspirin Mask

Honey Mask

I had never thought to try an aspirin mask before seeing a YouTube! video by Cristal "Serious" Steverson demonstrating how it's done.  When she mentioned only needing "Dollar Store" aspirin and hydrogen peroxide, I was in it to win it!  Plus, the directions that she gave were extremely simple to follow.

ACV, Honey, Hydrogen Peroxide, Cheap Aspirin.

After the aspirin mask my face felt like a baby's bum and even softer than that once I did the honey mask.  I think I'll wait until tomorrow to go over my face with the ACV, though, simply because I don't want to add something acidic to my uber soft face right now.  I'm just going to moisturize and then sleep on it!  If you've never tried an aspirin or honey mask and can stand to have beautiful skin, I suggest giving them a try; and while you're at it friends, don't forget to #BLAMECRISTAL!!

Mae's Homemade "Sweet Shine" Spritz

Mae/Natural Chica of NaturalChica.com and her FAB #naturalhair

I awoke this morning, and one of very first tweets that I came across happened to be by Shon (@happynappy2009), regarding Mae's (@naturalchica) Homemade "Sweet Shine" Spritz.  I clicked on the link in the tweet, which took me to NaturalChica.com where I found the recipe for MHSSS.  I became exited when I realized that I had all the necessary ingredients to try this recipe which called for Raw Honey, Avocodo Oil, EVOO, Liquid Vitamin E, and an Essential Oil of my choosing (all without having to leave the house).  Well her recipe actually called for Lemongrass Essential Oil, which happened to be the one that I didn't have, so I improvised with Peppermint Oil.

My Ingredients:

It took me just a few minutes to whip up Mae's natural hair recipe and I was ready to spray!

Once I finger teased my kinks to ensure even distribution of MHSSS, the first word that came to mind was "juicy!"  My #naturalhair was experiencing all them oils and that made my tresses ultra juicy. LOL  I haven't tried a b/o or a t/o, but  believe me it's on my To Do list, now that I have this stuff whipped up and ready in my spray bottle.  I don't know about you, but I like when my kinks and coils are juicy, so this recipe is FTW! in my opinion.  Thanks, Natural Chica!  Also thanks to Shon, aka HappyNappy2009 for sharing in her tweet this morning!

I happened to buy some Lemon Essential Oil and Jasmine Essential Oil today after I'd already used the Pepperment Oil, but I tell ya, I sure can't wait to try this recipe with either of my new Oils, too!

OH! And I will also have you to know, that this product felt GREAT on my skin as a moisturizer!!!!
