I can't believe it, but my big ass jar of Eco-Styler Olive Oil gel has been REDEEMED!! Once upon a time, shortly after my Big Chop in December, I had bought this gel because my sister (who is also natural) kept mentioned using it in her hair. I remember trying to use it at least twice by slathering it into my wet hair. What I got wasn't what I expected and the white residue it left behind, I hated. It was official, in my opinion, that Eco-Styler was not for me. I counted as a product loss...a big jar of wasted gel. That is....until today!
I'm still not a hair-doer, and my #natural hair resources here in Pensacola, FL are slim at best. What I've been doing with my natural hair for these past four months have only included puffs, plain TWA, headbands, twists (the few times that I've found time to do them) aaand that's mostly it. I've been seeing all the lovely styles my CURLfriends on Twitter wear and wished upon a star that I could do something wonderful with my own.
Which leads me back up to today. I broke out that damn Eco-Styler gel and just went for it. What exactly "it" was, I wasn't sure at first. My hair was dry-ish and compacted nappily to my head from sleeping on it. I didn't moisten it or anything because I wasn't sure anything wonderful would come out of this spur of the moment. I un-kinked small sections of hair and applied a nice fingerful of gel to each piece while pulling and stretching until the gel covered root to tip. Then I let go of the section of hair and what dangled there was a bit of hair that was nicely stretched and coiled (is the best was for me to describe it.). I kept right on until my whole head was full of ringlets.
Is there any white residue this time? Minimal. I think me pulling the gel to the ends of each section repeatedly helped with that. Anyway, I'm excited, y'all!! My TWA has ringlets!
I'll post more pics later today once I make myself look like something other than "just woke up." LOL
Nice results!!!
